As long as I can remember I always used the word ” Nature” to describe anything that wasnt human. As I grew up and developed a love for wildlife I realized that animals can be considered part of Nature as well. It was never brought to my attention that humans could be consisdered part of nature until I began to do my research on African Culture pertaining to Nature. In the African culture they believe that their ancestors inhabit the forest and provide the humans with food. Researching the ideas of Nature in African Culture not only helped me develope a more defined defnition of what I thought Nature was, but it also helped me to connect the ideas of religion to nature. My ideas of nature are extremely different from those refrenced in the Marx essay. The puritans believed that nature was evil and was against the progression of the humans. I believe that humans and nature should be able to work together, nature provides humans with natural resources that are needed for our everyday comfort. I have also come to the conclusion that humans are part of nature, we are living breathing creatures that can reproduce and consume, but we have an advantge over animals in that we can advance ourselves and our surroundings with technology.
