Right. This is almost a different story than the whales and turtles or whatever on the city council. Regardless of whether or not they should have political power in the human governing bodies, they need to be respected since they have physical power over the humans.

In response to Point 6: I think we have to ask why robots are always going crazy and destroying the world in these stories. The Wachowski Bros (the authors of the MATRIX series) grew up with R2D2 and C3PO just like the rest of my generation, and yet, the robots are still going crazy. I want to hold out for the possibility of the Wacky Robot Pal who it less likely that the world will end.

Interesting. The article claims that is it almost impossible to grow truly organic food in China. Although this is a nebulous claim, given that we don’t really enforce our own standards for organic food, it would come as no surprise, if true: wait till you read about their water crisis.

Kristine I really enjoyed reading this- you really drew me in with how detailed you were and I felt like I was seeing everything you had. The sequence in which you wrote everything really seemed to be the order in which the eye might pick these things up as well.
